How Conferences Facilitate Connections
I had a wonderful time sharing a new version of my Networking For Nice People presentation at the Craft Content Nashville Conference last week. My main goal with the presentation is to empower and inform the audience to make new relationships during any conference. This is also a part of my Better Conference Networking online course.
I explained how conferences facilitate connections. It's essential that attendees break out of their comfort zones and speak to strangers. The content from the presentations and the speakers themselves make for great ice breakers to achieve this.
When attendees leave a presentation, they can introduce themselves to the people around them and ask what they thought of the speaker or content. This can lead to long hallway conversations, lunch invitations, and ultimately new relationships when they exchange contact info and follow up after the conference.
Better Conference Networking
I spoke about how great conferences can feel like summer camp when they are over. The memories you have are more often from the people you met and the experiences meeting them than the content itself. This is why making new connections is a key part of enjoying any conference or event.
Before you plan to attend your next conference take a look at my Better Conference Networking course. The course content applies to an individual or a company sending a team. I teach you how to prepare for a conference, and what to do during and after the conference to ensure you see a return on your investment.
